The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on March 30, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Prohibition on Collection of Unauthorized Fees.
The following has been stated namely: -
• CBSE has divided the Class X Second Board Examination LOC submission into three phases—Phase 1 (LOC only, no fee) and Phases 2 & 3 (finalization with changes and fee payment).
• Purpose of Phase 1: To estimate the number of students appearing so CBSE can make necessary arrangements.
• Flexibility for Students: Students can add, modify, or drop subjects/candidature in later phases; if they don’t appear, main exam results will be considered.
• Fee Guidelines: Only the prescribed examination fee is allowed, schools must not collect any extra charges.
• Schools demanding additional fees (e.g., tuition fees) are violating rules, non-compliance will attract strict action by CBSE.
